GOLF COURSE
Designed and built by Peter Matkovich, the 18 hole, Par 72 Silver Lakes Golf Course is one of the finest in the Country, one of the top 10 most Eco-Friendly Golf Courses in the world according to golfscape and also the Best Golf Course Pretoria has to offer for 5 years as voted by the Best of Pretoria awards.
The course takes full advantage of the abundance of water and the river running through the Estate. Water comes into play on 11 of the 18 holes and the island fairway on the Par 5 14th, double fairway on the 8th, as well as excellent finishing holes on the 9th and 18th greens that share an island surrounded by palm trees, ensure a memorable and pleasant round of golf.
The Best Golf Course Pretoria has to offer also features a warm up area featuring a full-length range, chipping and putting green is available to golfers before play.

LADIES GOLF
The ladies’ golf section at the Silver Lakes Golf Club is a vibrant, sociable and welcoming group. Ladies of all ages compete in golf days and also arrange their own social games. There are numerous fun activities for our ladies’ golfers to enjoy throughout the year.

LADIES TUESDAYS
Bookings are taken a week in advance at the Pro Shop as a 4-ball or as individual bookings that get placed into 4-balls for this enjoyable morning group.
Fun competitions are also planned out a year in advance such as Betterball Stableford, Four ball Alliance, Odds and Evens, only five clubs in the bag, Monthly Medal and more. After golf a prize giving and a bit of mingling take place.
SATURDAYS
Ladies organise their own 4-balls on Saturday mornings or afternoons. Timesheets are available at the Pro Shop a week in advance for bookings. Once a month a Ladies Saturday Social is held followed by a prize giving and a bit of socialising.
OTHER
The annual ladies Road Trip is a club favourite, whereby the Ladies go on an exciting day visit to another golf club. A highlight was the 2018 visit to the exclusive River Club in Sandton.
Other regular ladies events that are very enthusiastically attended, include: Valentine’s Day, The Ryder Cup vs Woodhill Ladies, Rosella Cup on Women’s Day, Sanlam Cancer Day and the very popular Ladies Open in March. The year usually ends with a lovely Christmas function that serves as a fundraiser for Wollies Animal Shelter.
Our ladies also get entered into the GNGU League and teams also partake in the Thursday League, Saturday League, Women’s Individual League and Mixed League.
CLINICS
Ladies clinics are conducted at the Silver Lakes Golf Academy on Wednesday mornings. Wonderful coaching and fitting facilities are available for both group and individual classes.
